Mental Health Practitioner
Joshua completed a Master of Science in Education degree with a focus on Marriage and Family Therapy at the University of Wisconsin-Superior. He also holds a Bachelor's degree in music from Winona State University. We are happy that Joshua has decided to stay with the The Guidance Group after completing his graduate internship placement with us. He practices under the supervision of Dan Maki, MA, LMFT, LICSW.
Joshua loves making connections with individuals, couples, and families of all kinds (heterosexual, LGBTQ+, Poly, ENM, etc.) using experiential, attachment-oriented, trauma focused, and person-centered approaches. He relies on being fully present with clients, and uses a framework of Gestalt, Emotion-Focused Couples/Family Therapy, Non-Violent Communication, and Mindfulness based practices to assist clients in understanding their needs, build greater awareness of felt experience, and improve and repair emotional connections in relationships.
Joshua enjoys spending time with his family, trail running, swimming in icy waters, and making and listening to music.
Joshua sees clients online and at our offices in Duluth and Virginia.
